Rabbi Shalom M. Paltiel is Shliach-emissary of the Lubavitcher Rebbbe in Port Washington, Long Island, and director of Chabad of Port Washington since he was sent there by the Rebbe in 1991. Under his inspired leadership, Chabad has built an impressive 2 acre campus including a well-established synagogue, preschool, summer camp, mikvah, and a community & athletic center.

Rabbi Paltiel is an engaging, dynamic speaker who touches his audiences with his blend of wisdom, warmth, passion and humor. He possesses the ability to teach Torah and traditional ideals in a modern context, making them relevant to the modern mind and heart. He is sought after as a guest lecturer for Chabad House groups and Shabatons across the country.

Rabbi Paltiel lives in Port Washington with his wife Sara. They are blessed with 11 children, including three sons who are ordained rabbis, and 5 grandchildren.
